exams are like a sumptuous dinner!

when it begins everyone is fired up, fully fueled (more or less) and ready to go
similarly when the food first comes, everyone attacks it with voracious appetites

as the exams go on we get discouraged by some stupid answers, missed out parts in studying, misinterpretation of questions
and as the meal goes on you might eat or drink something you dislike, get fuller and less hungry

and when it reaches the last part of the exam, the last stretch, like now
you just lose steam.
or enter into another of those constant tensions between studying and slacking.
just like at the last part of the meal, where everyone is too full to drool (what the?) and as everyone gets fuller they start asking people to eat more and you enter into this tension of eating more since no one wants it anyway or eating less to keep slim.
THEN there's this last piece of ______ sitting on the plate staring at everyone, and no one wants to touch it.

the HERO(INE) saves the day by sacrificing her figure to eat the last piece to save everyone from the infallible sin of wasting food.
and the same heorine with the same spirit will finish up the last paper with all the vigour and strength left in her.

and know that like how food is a blessing from God, pulling through this is the same. everything becomes a blessing when you put it in proper perspective!

Moving on to my birthday 2 weeks ago. sorry for the late entry post.

4 camps in a row was indeed a tiring affair and an accomplishment that i thought i would never achieve.
It wasnt really 4 complete camps because of the business and sports camp that ended early due to our dreaded H1N1 virus in the campus.

I would say the H1N1 experience wasnt a pleasant one to begin with. Being the only one in my group in biz camp to talk to someone from the SDE camp had got my ogl worried due to confirmed cases in the SDE camp itself. I thought that i was so close to having the virus as i shared toilets with the SDE camp girls. Little did i expect that i would have such close encounter with the virus in the next camp, sports camp 2009.

Since the start of sheares camp, which i thought so far was the best one, i had been looking forward to this sports camp. Rumours of it being tiring and most money worth as u just pay 70 dollars for a whole lot of new experience. Yes indeed, i get to try things that i would never ever if i wouldnt come for this camp.

Zovball.
is this big rubber ball where two people are "tied" to the insides and allowed to roll down a hill.
WHOA it's super cool! i got to roll down the hill with ren ying and we made a pact that we were not to scream in the ball.
BUT when the ball started rolling down, we just laughed so loudly that we started screaming! HAHA it was hilarious and exhilarating!
OMY i really want another roll down! Alot of my og mates were also fighting to roll the ball down as u get to threaten the people inside and hear their screams and pleas which is really funny.

Paintball.
A short experience but really cool! liike how i used to watch those movies of assasins shooting and firing at each other, paintball paints a mini scenario like that. I managed to run to the front and hid behind the Big tins. Quiite scary to see paintballs hitting the tins. there was one that flew past me by 1mm. i swear it was that close cos i felt it.

Kangaroo spring thing.
Whatever it is called. it was not really very fun but i got to be really tall. It was a great experience in balancing in a spring like bottom and jump around like a kangaroo. and of cos, i thought that the demonstrators there were really pro. they can jump so high!

Night cycling
I must say it was my first time cycling at night and such far distance. It was good bonding session and i must say the guys are really protective and nice(: kudos to the guys in Gambino! (:
We cycled from ecp all the way to kallang then to dhoby ghaut, taka, victoria street, SMU, Arts house etc.. (cant really remember already)

Cable Skiing
Short experience but wasnt a good one because i drank the sea water due to the abrupt drop into the water and was feeling sick after tt ):

Andy is a great canoe partner! (: he gave me some tips on canoeing. and yeah he said my strokes were good too. hehe

a kind gesture of giving you a lift home

a thoughtful offer of helping you to take your bags when you have too many on hand

a nice gentle reminder of your whatever you forgot

a little note or sms of appreciation for your hard work

the call just to ask you how your day is

the person who offers you a tissue when u cry

the person who notices that you are sullen and bothers to talk to you

a simple random gift or phone call to show that the person matters

an offer to send the person home when you know its late

Wouldn't it be nice if I could do all that....?

This is a thought provoking and complicated blog post.

Many things happened recently but i wouldnt blog about it all here. Being 5 days away from the deadline of my submission of application for universities, i'm still unsure of which school to choose. Everywhere i go, people ask me so which school which course i want to go etc. Yes, some of you know that i'm inclined to go to NUS because of the culture(:

I've been asking God for a clear direction in which school and even which course i should enter. Small signs had stirred me to try out for the teaching scholarship for MOE, but i'm still unsure if that is the direction i should be going to. If i take up MOE scholarship, i have to appeal and change course to economics.
With a Princess E camp coming up this Thursday means i'll be away from home for like 3 crucial days which upped the challenge of really sitting down to think of which school i should go. Hopefully, i pray that clear signs will be shown to me during the camp(:
This week's gonna be tough for me. I have so many things in my head seriously. I just hope that during this time i can make wise decisions, do right things and stay happy.

Orientation camp- sports camp, Sheares hall camp etc. SO MANY CAMPS coming up! gosh(: 2 more months before uni starts and oh yes, time really flies when u're enjoying it. (:

A few weeks ago, a taxi driver's random comment started me thinking.. He said " Singaporeans are always in a rush nowadays. Where are you rushing too, girl? Must reach by what time?"

I was taken aback by his straightforward question. It seemed like he knew that i was going to be late. Anxious, i told him " uncle, i'm late already.. reach by 7pm Changi rise "

Why are we always in a rush to wherever we go? Or is it only me? Do you all feel that there is so much to do but with so little time in your hands?

I will not confuse what I need with what I want
What we need is called essentials, without which we would find it hard to live, like having enough to eat, a roof over our heads and decent clothes to wear. What we want may be different. It may be food that we love but is expensive.. Do not confuse the two.

Gratefulness is Letting others know by words and actions how they have benefited my life.
I will count my benefits rather than my burdens
How we will look at our circumstances will determine our happiness. If we constantly look at what we don’t have instead of being grateful for what we have, we will become discouraged or even bitter. We should count our blessings as there will always be others who have more and others who have less than we do.
I will listen to criticism
When we are criticized we must separate what is being said from how it is being said.
There may be a lesson to be learnt that may benefit us if we do this. If we constantly adjust our behavior to the criticism we will become better persons and earn the respect and trust of others.
I will point others in the right direction
I will not stretch the truth to make it more attractive
I will appeal to a person’s conscience in terms of character
I will wait for the best time
I will not argue
Persuasion is often more effective than force
“ It is easier to do a job right than to explain why you didn’t”

Wedding Planning was great!(: God has indeed blessed me with many little experiences for me to learn from and slowly discover what my purpose of life is, what God has in store for me in the future.

Experience in New Moon was an eye opener and as a bonus, of course, the perks that came with this job(: No lah, not free abalone! ( I Wish, haha )
Blessings just showered on me continuously and God opened so many routes for me to take.

Hi all, i havent been blogging for a really long time. Updates so far=D i'm actually working now! hahaha blogging at my workplace , you must be thinking that im really daring! hahaha. anw, working makes you love FRIDAY VERY MUCH! hahaha. i have 2 tuition kids right now, getting 2 more soon... hopefully i can squeeze out more time from my already VERY packed schedule for family and friends! haha.
Last week, all of a sudden i just missed VJC life so much! The company, the basketball times, everything! and now my guy friends are all entering tekong one by one, which leaves me with less friends to chill out with and chat! =( CNY is coming real soon! yay look forward to it! i'll try my best to blog abt Taiwan SOON.. and the NICE pictures! oh yes i saw XIAOZHU thr! omg rite? haha.

EXAMS are over!! big smile=) yay. i've so so many things to blog about, so many things happened recently. i know ive neglected this blog for so long til there are weeds growing everywhere alr. hehe

Studying for the prelims or As is like De Javu! It's the exact feeling when i studied for o levels. ahhh, dreadful, but it'll soon be over=) 2 more months. heh. I've thought about it already, there's really much more to just studying and getting 4As in exams. so what if we get 4As? It's more of the process where you discover things that you do not know, the discipline you cultivated through the late nights and most importantly, grow closer to God. I wouldn't have survived this period of time alone. Thank God for all the countless blessings everyday!
A few days ago, my grandma had difficulty breathing and the doctor said she had pneumonia. Of course, that made everyone worried sick cos its really dangerous to have pneumonia at an old age. During that time, i just kept praying and praying for God's protection over my grandma. On the next day, my mum called me and told me my grandma has no more pneumonia and no other problems as well after a thorough check up. =)))) Yeah. i just went to see her just now and she was smiling =p haha.

Oh yes! I had a great basketball game today after my paper, except for the blue black and horrible sunburnt!>< hehe, and i walked from schoool all he way to parkway under the sun. hahaha. lala. okay im gonna watch tv now goodnyte everyone. have a great holiday! (except for h3 ppl, haha brains=)

ive got so many things to update on so here goes:

ASEAN forum n JTS=D
ASEAN forum was really long.couldnt imagine sitting still for the whole day until 6pm other than 1hour of lunch break.LOL. but i kinda enjoyed myself. JTS was really cool.had fun camwhoring n truth n dare(except for some stupid ques amanda asked)went shopping with brains also>.<
whoa i went on a shopping spree even before GSS started, spent alot n felt quite guilty . so im gonna start saving money alr. Robinson sales, ADIDAS sale!, Billabong n everywhere! ohmymy. alright enough about shopping...

Basketball n soccer match support
3 CHEERs for bball guys n girls, soccer girls n guys, i think you all did a fantabulous job. =DD i am still amazed that my voice is intact after so much screaming n shouting from the match supports!hahaha. miracle.anw, match support is crazy. im quite mean>.< i dont like this MJ soccer guy with a really big butt.hahaha.
n match support is really fun, cos u get to scream n shout as a school, as VJC=D

After every game, when the sportsmen celebrate their win, or grieve their loss.. it reminds me of the times when i used to be one of them.but i believe all sportsmen are true winners, because they have won the teamwork, the friendship and the entire process already. A pity i couldnt join a sport in JC (because i gave into my mum who didnt allow me to join) , that would be one of my greatest regret in JC life. yea. so i usually watch the players with envy in every match supports and just wished i could be one of them>.<

Firstly, i want to Thank God for the blessings showered on me! I can really see God moving in my life this week. Now that one of my prayer has been answered, i'll continue to pray for the rest=)
Thank God again for the breakthrough in my relationships=) especially with my Dad, i really feel our rs improving and that 'invinsible' wall that used to be between us slowly disappearing=) Last Friday,i went for a jog with my Dad!
okay so glad that so many ppl got saved on Good Friday!=D KUDOs to the drama team on putting up such a cool show!

Arts Day 2008
IT was really fun today!
i had fencing for feeling fab=D great experience! nv thought fencing could be so fun!
woah i din noe fencing was a martial art! ok for those who dunno how fencing is like, here it goes: it's like we get a sword( nt sharp la) then we got to score points by aiming at the opponent, see who is faster la. hehe and taller ppl have advantage cos they have longer hands!LOL. just kidding!
i think Vj has really gd fencers^^ i wonder how does Melvin and Lijin look like when they fence!HAHAHA.
then i watched this super coool archapella( HOW to spell!)
and beat boxing! ahhhh damm pro!!!!=DDD
and then went to play bball with my seniors and Edmund!^^
hahaha then went to the hall to watch the concert!( ppl in front r like o high!)
then we were talking and crapping at the canteen (julia edmund valerie and jiehao and james!) hahaha we were like super high!
okay then went back home to have a nice long sleep=DDD

hohoho.i was playing DTX mania jus now=D and and i got A for e pokemon song leh! that game is really really addictive,but fun^^

anyway, 2 days of hospital attachment i had today and the day before taught me some stuff.
i was at the pediatric ward today and i saw the nursery with all the little newborn babies in there. They were all cuddled up and sleeping soundly.soooo adorable!and i was just thinking, really it is just so amazing how God made life to enter this world.
The Nurse was telling us abt the procedures of delivering baby and such stuff. and u no what! i tink mothers are really 伟大。come on, go give your mum a hug or a kiss now=D LOL! I think we all heard of the tremendous labour pain mothers have to go through, but i think unless u experienced it yourself, its hard to comprehend just how painful it is. hahaha. but, when the mothers see their little newborn, they would be thinking that all the pain would be worth it.

Well,TADA tts all from me today. NEXT wk is sentosa week and hopefully, i get to go malaysia=D til then!<3

and yay i finished 恶魔在身边！

YAYNESS so u all might be wondering and asking me how's my new house?
honestly, i kinda didnt like it cos its super noisy and dusty and dirty and everything when i just moved in. i just really missed my old house.really really.and i couldnt imagine how i could live the same way like the past.and and my parents are grumbling nagging, its like many many things changed. somehow, i just dont like changes.);
BUT , i repeat BUT, im proud to say i love my house now:))hehehe. yes its smaller, yes its noisier. yes there's no pool, yes there's less wind BUT its cosier, my family is more bonded, i get to exercise with my gf like really often? i get to stay near so mnay friends!(; sheena and my gf stays super near me!!!!and my church fren too^^
and there are so many bball courts ard! hehe. and ppl living in hougang are really nice! and there's a cool park jus opp my house! HHAHA.
oh wells, i went to play bball this morn. then went to catch bratz with FIONA PAY! HAHAHA. hmmmm, i tink its quite predictable. erm i din really enjoy the show..well, but i enjoy fiona's company!((;
oh ytd i went to bake cookies with jz and jiayi! HAHAHA bf left earlier but i stayed at gf's house til like 9pm?den went to my grandma's house to give her cookies!

i jus got back from swimming and im sad to say, that i'll miss the swimming pool, the nice comfy jaccuzi, the coconut trees and every thing downstairs. the mere thought of leaving is depressing);
and all of a sudden, it hit me that i was really really fortunate and im really thankful for that. how come, how come when i am about to leave then would i cherish what i have.well at least i hope to spend a nice happy 2 more months at my house.
haha. oh and i'll be shifting to hougang ave 8!near hougang mall, quite out of the way and far far from the east where i'm staying now. heh well at least i grew up in hougang area in primary school(; and now im back there!ahhha. hmmm im sure to say i'll miss the east cos its where all my lovely friends stay,where my secondary school was and fave hangouts were! heh but who knows the North east(if im nt wrong ) would be better.

OMG im damm high now.YAY i cant wait for shopping therapy tml.muahaha. JUNE hols have come, which means tt half a year have passed.its like all so fast, so sudden and mid years are coming.match seasons and syfs are over, its e start of really studying hard. haha great sg sale has also started, wheee it means i can go shopping!(;
HAHA i shall blog about yesterday,a really tiring but fun filled day! it was a FULL day,full day off from sch.but still had SPA in e morning, u noe how sad was it to be forced to stay back for chem spa and bio remedials when evryone is out having fun!?argh.den aft spa and remedials i went to play basketball with wilson.shoot shoot, den play play den play 1 on 1 match.haha he gave me chance so i won him 5-4. HAHA after dat exciting part! i met gor den we went to watch basketball finals!OMG OMG its very exciting,e match was really one tt keep u on ur toes at all times.and through the match,i could really feel our vj's team spirit and the perseverance.Even tho there was one part when RJ was leading, they still fought on bravely and won them in e end.
and OMG the match totally reminded me of 2 yrs back our match with RGS.but we lost by a marginal one or two balls.the defeat was really devastating..and den now, its like majority of vj team is made up of ahs bball players la,so its like we got our revenge!wheeee.and my love for basketball came back i dono why i really missed training days i really do.hai..ok..im so happy for all of e players! den after e match, gor and i went to eat our really late lunch(i was starving alrd!)den went to watch soccer match at Jalan Besar.then siyuan brains and eyebags came andwatch oso.the soccer girls fought hard, but still lost. i hope all e soccer players wld get over it soon, cause we're so gonna get two soccer champs next yr, both guys and girls.haha.and im so looking forward to it.ahhha ok den after match we rushed down to watch edna at band concert.by the time, i was alrd feeling horrid, like damm tired and sick.den at eunos mrt, i fell down the stairs and twistd my ankle.but dont worry ppl, its okay now.haha.den we waited for e cab for so long.waaa i din noe so diff to get bad one lei!OMG.den we cabbed down to vjc to watch band conc.byt the time we reached it was alrd 830..then we went in after e interval. haha those band ppl i noe all play french horn one..LOL.den tada went back home and had a really lonnng sleep.

WOOLALA. just wanna blog a shorrrrt little post here(; today's a happy little day, well at least for me(; I feel tt its like e ppl ard me who did small little things for u tt made me feel loved.

hehe today i went home earlier than usual 6 plus la..theb i went to bathe.. after tt my mum called me to come out of my room and said ' quick la..come ' then i was like.. ok..den she left a small little nicely wrapped box at my doorstep. It wa a necklace from SK jewellery! OMG.its like so damm sweet! then i was so touched..haha

YAy and mummy's day is coming.and it was such an irony tt she bought smth of me instead of me buying for her.haha. i LOVE my MUMMY!(; heee=p
